Walking path reminder

In partnership with the Village of Ottawa Hills, we are reminding our parents and students to refrain from using any walking paths that are closed for construction. Signage, barricades and danger tape indicates a path is closed and poses a major safety concern.

Help walking paths be repaired in a timely, safe and cost effective manner by staying clear of closed project areas.

International Dot Day

is a global celebration of creativity, courage and collaboration inspired by Peter H. Reynolds’ book "The Dot".

"The Dot" is the story of a caring teacher who dares a doubting student to trust in her own abilities by being brave enough to “make her mark”. What begins with a small dot on a piece of paper becomes a breakthrough in confidence and courage.

OHES is celebrating Dot Day with a school-wide project this year - Woohoo! All students in grades K-6 are creating colorful paper quilt pieces during art class. The OHES Dotted Quilt Design will be magically appearing in the Wondry within the next few weeks. It will be displayed for most of this school year.

Brown Bag Chorus

Brown Bag Chorus is available to all students in grades five and six who are willing to rehearse regularly and attend our performances.

There will be opportunities for solo singing, instruments and dance! Please consider having your student join this fun and rewarding tradition at Ottawa Hills Elementary School.

MathCounts

The sixth grade MathCounts team is for students who love math, like math, want to do better in math, and enjoy hanging out with their friends during lunch and recess.

Mrs. Griffin would LOVE to see as many sixth graders as possible to join MathCounts! We have a lot of fun, get to know each other better, and enjoy math while we do it! Ourfirst meeting will be Thursday, October 9, 2025. For more information and the permission slip, click HERE .

Homework Club

Homework Club is underway! Homework Club runs Mondays through Thursdays from 2:50-3:50 PM (unless there is a staff meeting). Students will be notified if it is canceled. Your child does not need to stay the whole hour, and there is no fee.

OHSPA has you covered for hot lunch

Hot lunch is one of the Ottawa Hills Schools Parent Association's biggest fundraisers. Keep your Green Bears' tummies happy while supporting the schools. Shout out to our wonderful parent volunteers who coordinate and serve hot lunch.
