A Message from

Ben McMurray...

 

Thank you to those of you who have already shared your valuable feedback regarding our ongoing efforts to meet the educational needs of your children as we work as educators to evaluate our current JHHS schedule.

Your input is essential as we conduct a comprehensive review of how we provide access to our extensive curricular offerings, allocate instructional time for each subject area, offer academic support and intervention, prepare students for college and careers, and create enrichment opportunities.

 

I want to clarify that the survey sent out was not intended to signal immediate changes to our rotating schedule, electives, or study halls. Instead, feedback from students, parents, and staff is helping us better understand the priorities and needs of our school community. Please know that this review process will include additional opportunities for input, discussion, and questions. In addition, we are analyzing relevant research and benchmarking our practices against those of comparable districts. Should we explore potential changes to our current schedule, we will ensure that students, parents, and the Board of Education are fully informed and engaged in the decision-making process.

 

To date, we have received over 300 survey responses from students and more than 150 from families, and we will continue to keep the survey open. Your feedback is invaluable, and we appreciate your engagement in this process. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
