| Fees & Yearbooks Any unpaid fees and fines need to be resolved as soon as possible. Yearbooks will not be distributed to students with any outstanding fees or fines. The online portal can be accessed via PowerSchool or the district website. Yearbook distribution will take place Thursday, May 23. Students will have time to have their classmates sign yearbooks during May Day festivities. |
| 8th Grade Recognition The recognition ceremony will take place in the auditorium from 6:00-7:00pm on Tuesday, May 28. Students are expected to arrive at 5:45. There is no limit to the number of guests. Hope to see you there! |

Sky Silk Scores 200 Goals Congratulations to Sky Silk for scoring her 200th career goal last Monday when the Green Bears faced off against Central Catholic. Sky is a scoring machine, selfless player, and a positive leader and teammate. She continues to hold the school record for most career goals in girls lacrosse. Way to go, Sky! |

Honors Scientific Research Celebration On Monday, May 6, Mr. Nixon's hosted the Honors Scientific Research Class annual Celebration of Science Research! The students were excited to share their findings with the community and present their magazine, Ursidae, which contains more than a dozen articles about the research done this year and written by students in the class. Congratulations to the students in the scientific research class Ali Sediqe, Olga Isailovic, Akash Parikh, Savith Vjendra, Xuan Huang, Annie Bahar, Sebastian Stevens, and Twayne Lai. BGSU Middle School Honor Band Unites Musicians from the Region Over 370 band students from Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan converged for a day of intense musical immersion at the BGSU Middle School Honor Band event. The all-day musical affair commenced with some of the region's finest middle school band students receiving six brand-new pieces of music they had never seen before. They were then divided into four different ensembles: Falcon Band, Brown Band, White Band, and Orange Band, and had the opportunity to work with guest conductors from across the United States. Tennis Team Shines in Sectional Tournament: Advancing to Finals Ottawa Hills first singles Jack Kayse and first doubles Savith Vjendra and Chris Thompson won 1st place at Sectionals. Second singles Akash Parikh and second doubles Micah Walker and Sahil Parikh both took 3rd place. All players advance to OHSAA district tournament in Port Clinton this week. Way to go, Green Bears! TAAC Track and Field Championships Recap: Boys Earn 3rd Place, Girls Clinch Second Consecutive Title! The boys and girls track and field teams competed at the TAAC championships on Friday night at Northwood High School. Our boys team competed their hearts out but came up just short of a championship by finishing in 3rd place. Leading the team was the TAAC runner of the year Riley Nixon who took first place in the 1600m, 400m and was a part of the first place 4x400m relay team. Other members of the men’s team who came away with victories were Joe Mayer Heckathorn in the 800m, Michael Kelley in the 3200m and our 4x400m & 4x800m relay teams. The girls team were TAAC champions for the second year in a row. The team was dominate from start to finish beating second place by 45 points. Leading the way were our amazing seniors. JoAnna Kelley took home 1st place in the 800m, 1600m and the 3200m. Ella Shetterly won the 100 hurdles, and the 300 hurdles and was on the 1st place 4x100m relay and 4x200m relay. Other first place finishes were the 4x800m relay team. Green bears will be back in action on Thursday and Saturday at Montpelier for the district championships. Prom Goers Transported to a Tropical Paradise Guests of this year’s prom experienced “Tropical Paradise” and enjoyed dinner and dancing at Brandywine Country Club. Noah Hamilton and Evie Heidenreich were named Prom King and Queen. Special thanks to junior class advisor Gloria Kreischer-Gajewicz and class officers Cole Weaver, Sam Brown, Rose Hajjar, Kali McCullough, Vaughn Mackey, and Molly Rybarczyk for planning a successful, exciting, and fun prom. The decorations, food, entertainment and music made for an exceptional evening. Sixth Graders Visit Junior High Last week, current sixth graders made their way across the field to visit the junior high to begin their gradual transition to the seventh grade. Sixth graders were greeted by counselor Nikki Tolliver, Dean of Students Jasa George, Assistant Principal Darrin Broadway, and a panel of current junior high students. They were offered advice, encouragement, and reassurance to help them for the next chapter of their journey. Thanks to Nikki Tolliver for organizing the visit. Special thanks to the sixth-grade teachers Andrea Williamson, Jonathon Siebenaler, and Jennifer Griffith, as well as the entire elementary school faculty and staff, for all they have done to prepare the class of 2030. |
