A Message of Gratitude
OH Parents & Community members,
As we gear up to start back from Spring Break tomorrow, our hearts are full of gratitude for the support our district received last week on Election Day. Many Villagers voted YES, and our levy passed.
A giant thank you goes out to the community volunteers, students, and members of our staff who worked together to help explain the need to pass this critical operating levy. This team of volunteers, known as The Citizens for Ottawa Hills Schools, co-chaired by OH parents Julie MacMillan and Erica Kelm, was also led by campaign treasurer Melissa Gagacki, Katie Cho, and Board Member Kathy Lathrop. Their leadership, and the hard work, passion, and dedication of the entire team paid off.
With the passage of this levy, we now won’t be required to undergo a significant workforce reduction ahead of next school year, but the challenge of continuing to build our financial stability remains a top priority for myself as your Superintendent, the School Board, and for our district leadership team as a whole. We still have work to do, but we know we can do it. We are confident that if we continue to work together under a different mindset, look for new and creative ways to pursue financial success, and most importantly, keep our kids and their needs at the forefront of our mission, we will get there.
Our team is excited to welcome back our students to both school buildings tomorrow morning, and there is so much to look forward to in the coming months as we finish our school year strong.
Thank you again for all of your continued support,
Dr. Adam Fineske
Superintendent
