State Testing

Our Green Bears in grades 3-11 are ready to show what they know! State testing begins soon, and these assessments give our teachers valuable insights to strengthen curriculum and instruction. High school students will also have opportunities to meet graduation requirements through these tests. The Jr./Sr. High School testing will begin Monday, April 13.

Attendance is important during testing windows, and we want every student to shine after all the hard work they've put in this year. If your child needs to miss a test day, we'll work with you to schedule makeup testing. See the letter regarding state testing from Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction Dr. Miller, with the schedule for all tests here.

Quinton Smith Presents at AJAS

This past February, Quinton Smith was selected by the Ohio Academy of Science to represent the state of Ohio at the 2026 American Junior Academy of Sciences (AJAS) Conference in Phoenix, Arizona, where he joined approximately 100-150 other high school researchers around the country to present at the 2026 AAAS meeting.

The event is the largest global interdisciplinary science meeting that includes scientists from all over the world including Nobel laureates.  Quinton shares, “We had some science networking events and presented our research, which for me was space-based solar research. My research explores the possibilities of an alternative type of solar cell that is lighter, cheaper, more flexible, radiation-resistant, etc. viable for use in space.”

Quinton has been working with science teacher Jeremy Nixon and University of Toledo professors Zhaoning Song, Haoran Chen, Tingting Zhu, and John-David Smith as part of the Honors Scientific Research class at OHHS.  Many thanks to the OH Schools Foundation, OHS Parent Association for their on-going support.
