Welcome from Dr. Miller

I'm glad to welcome our families back as your Interim Superintendent for the 2026-2027 school year. As a reminder, students return on Wednesday, August 19.

A little bit about me: I joined Ottawa Hills as a 7th grade English teacher in room 148 of the Jr./Sr. High School in 2000. During my 16 years in the classroom, I served on the Education Association Executive Board and various district committees while pursuing my PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Toledo.

Since 2016, I have had the privilege of serving as Director of Curriculum and Instruction and later as Assistant Superintendent, working closely with our outstanding teachers and staff across our district.

My top priority this year is ensuring a smooth, supportive transition for our students and staff. As we look ahead, we will revisit our strategic goals, reflect on our progress, and collaborate with our community on securing our district's financial future.

I am proud to be part of the Ottawa Hills community and optimistic about what we will accomplish together. Whether you are a parent, student, staff member, or community supporter, please reach out if you have questions or would just like to connect.

Playground Update

We are thrilled to announce that construction on the new all-inclusive playground at the Elementary School will begin in early September! As work gets underway, the construction zone will be securely blocked off to ensure student safety throughout the installation process. This exceptional enhancement to our outdoor space was made possible through generous private contributions to the Ottawa Hills Schools Foundation Green Bear GREEN SPACE capital campaign. We are deeply grateful to our community for their continued investment in our students' experiences.

Additional updates will be shared as construction progresses. Thank you for your patience as we create this new community play space.

Back to School 5K & 1M - Saturday Night Lights!

The Ottawa Hills Back to School 5K (8:30 PM) & 1M (7 PM) is Saturday, August 15. This fundraiser is organized by junior class families and benefits after prom.

Both the 1M and 5K start and end in Niedermeier Stadium.

Save the date for the Boosters BBQ on Friday, September 11 - before the home football game. Tickets available soon!

Booster passes for all home 2026-2027 Ottawa Hills regular season games are now available at ohboosters.org.

OHSPA, Hot Lunch, & School Directory

The Ottawa Hills Parent Association is excited to invite all parents to attend the OHSPA meeting on Thursday, August 27 at 5:30 p.m. in The Foundry.

OHSPA also has a great line up for the hot lunch fundraiser. Hot lunch orders due by the 24th of each month.

OHSPA also offers a School Directory you can opt into and/or purchase. The directory is super handy for arranging carpools, playdates and remembering names! Update your family's information and order at the link below.

OHBBO Meeting

Joining the Ottawa Hills Band Boosters Organization is the best way to stay informed on elementary and jr./sr. high band events, get involved, and fund the music that keeps school spirit high! OHBBO invites you to their meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. in the elementary school community room.

OHMTA News

The Ottawa Hills Music & Theatre Association actively supports programs and contributes funds so that the elementary and jr./sr. high school students have a variety of music, theatre, and art enrichment opportunities while attending Ottawa Hills Schools. The OHMTA supports the choral, band, and theatre activities, as well as contributing towards the enrichment of the arts.
