Rose’s Message

As we move into the third full week of January, I want to thank our families for helping students return to school routines after the winter break. Classrooms are fully engaged in learning, and it has been wonderful to see students settling back into academic expectations and school-wide routines.

Please remember that winter weather and cold/flu season are still upon us. We appreciate your continued support in keeping students home when they are ill and ensuring they are dressed appropriately for outdoor recess when weather permits (above 18 degree temp and/or windchill).

Thank you for your partnership and ongoing support. Together, we are off to a strong start to the new year.

🎭 OHES Talent Show – Parent Volunteers Needed! 🎭

We are looking for a parent—or a group of parents—who would be willing to organize the OHES Talent Show this year.

This is a beloved OHES tradition that we would love to continue; however, due to scheduling constraints, our staff is unable to take on the planning this year. With parent leadership, this special event can still happen for our students!

If you are interested or would like to learn more about what the role involves, please reach out to Rose Gaiffe at 419-536-8329.

The Ottawa Hills Band Boosters Organization needs a LOGO!

Contest Rules:

Any Ottawa Hills student can submit a logo
Drawn, painted, and digitally created logos are accepted
Incorporating green and white is optional
Logos cannot use copyrighted images
Logos MUST include the title: Ottawa Hills Band Booster Organization or "OHBBO"

How to Participate:

Create your logo and save it in .png format
Complete the Google Form and attach your photo
All submissions are due by 11:59pm on February 1, 2026

Prize:

The winning logo will be used on all OHBBO merchandise and on all social media accounts.
You will also receive a t-shirt with YOUR LOGO on it!

Newsies Jr. Parent Meeting

Hi Parents,

As we get closer, we want to have a Parent meeting to go over details to help the departments run smoothly. All department heads will be present to help answer questions. Please attend so we can all be aligned and get us over the finish line!

Tickets on sale now for Disney's "Newsies Jr."

Extra, extra, read all about it! Congratulations to all 4th-8th grade students cast in Acting Out!'s production of Disney's "Newsies Jr.," coming to the Ottawa Hills Theatre stage in February 2026.

Show dates are:

February 6 at 7 p.m.
February 7 at 2 and 7 p.m.
February 8 at 2 p.m.

"Newsies Jr." is a high-energy musical inspired by the real-life Newsboys Strike of 1899. When newspaper publishers raise prices at the newsboys' expense, a spirited group of young newsies bands together to stand up for what's right. Led by the determined Jack Kelly, the kids discover the power of friendship, courage and using their voices to make a difference. Filled with upbeat songs, lively dance numbers and an inspiring message, "Newsies Jr." is a fun, uplifting show for audiences of all ages. Rated G.

Dear Families,

This is a friendly reminder that school begins promptly at 8:10 a.m.

Morning Arrival
The entry doors on Indian Road close at 8:10 a.m. Any student arriving after that time must enter through the front office doors and will be marked tardy. Please help your child—and our teachers—start the day on a positive note by ensuring your child is inside the building before 8:10 a.m. each morning.

Dismissal Procedures
To help ensure a smooth and safe dismissal, please notify the office of any changes to your child’s pick-up plan by 12:00 p.m. on the day of the change. This allows us to communicate updates to your child well before dismissal time.
