Hello Green Bear Families, A reminder on morning drop off: As we enter our third week of school it is important to maintain building safety protocols. This means that parents and guardians will only be allowed to enter the building through the visitor entrance at the office main doors via the elementary circle drive parking lot. All visitors (anyone not a student or staff member) must use the Raptor system located in the elementary vestibule. This requires using a government issued ID to check in before being permitted to enter the building. We understand that the transition to school can be challenging for many families and students. If your student needs extra assistance, counselors and teachers will be on hand to assist any child that needs additional support. All students should be dropped off using the circle line, or walked to the Indian Rd. facing doors, and enter the school independently to line up in the new gym prior to the 8:10 a.m. bell. Schools are closed Monday, Sept. 2, Labor Day. Have a great long weekend, Rose Gaiffe Interim Elementary Principal rgaiffe@ohschools.org

A message from the Athletic Director It has been an amazing start to the school year and I have enjoyed seeing so many Green Bear fans in attendance at sporting events both at home and away in support of our teams. Our first home football game is tonight, and as the community comes out to cheer on our Green Bears, I want to take a moment to remind everyone to demonstrate good sportsmanship and respect for our facilities. Respecting the officials, coaches, players, and opposing team visitors is an important part of creating a safe and supportive environment for our student-athletes. It is also important for the safety of young children that they are supervised while attending OHLS athletic events. Also, please be sure to leave our facilities in good condition by throwing away any trash from concession purchases. We want our opponents that visit Ottawa Hills to be left with a positive impression of our district and village and want to make it a place that our visitors want to return to. Thank you, and we look forward to a great fall season of Green Bear athletics! -Ryan Wronkowicz, Athletic Director

PBIS Cub Cave is looking for volunteers The PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) team is looking for caregivers to volunteer during school hours at the Cub Cave. The PBIS program is geared towards teaching and reinforcing positive behaviors and expectations for all ages within the school district. At the elementary school one of the ways we reinforce these behaviors is by students earning Cub Cash for meeting and surpassing expectations throughout the building. Students then have an opportunity to visit the PBIS Cub Cave each week to buy miscellaneous rewards. We are looking for caregivers to help run the weekly shop times. If you are interested in helping with the PBIS Cub Cave, please email Mrs. Celizic and Ms. Syrowski to sign up. Once we have solidified the schedule with the homeroom teachers, we will reach out with a sign up sheet for specific times. Thank you so much for your help and support!

Reminder for Pick up on Pardee Island (Loading Den) Parents please be sure you have the Yellow Dismissal card with your last name prominently displayed in your car so teachers can see who you are picking up. If you do not have your sign, for the safety of the students, we will ask you to pull around to the end of the line so we can check your ID. We want to be certain we are putting students in the car with parents/guardians who are authorized to pick them up. If you need an extra dismissal card for another pick up person, please email Jeanie Hardman with that request and we will make sure your child is given the card.
