It will showcase the talents and triumphs of our student body. Virtually everyone will be represented in some way. Join us in celebrating some of the wonderfully magical things our students accomplish daily, and throughout the year. |
Prom is right around the corner, taking place on May 11. After Prom provides junior and senior students and their guests with a way to celebrate the night in a safe, secure, and substance-free atmosphere after the dance. Tickets will be on sale next week during lunch in The Foundry hallway. Payment can be made with cash, check (payable to “OHSPA” with “After Prom - student name” in the memo line), or Venmo (@OH-After Prom, indicate “After Prom Ticket - student name” in the memo line”. | "Home to Home" Car Wash Home to Home is a community partnership between Ottawa Hills and Scott High Schools that helps foster community connections. The group will be hosting a car wash on Sunday, May 5 from 12-3 p.m. in the Ottawa Hills School parking lot. All proceeds will benefit Hope Toledo and their "mission is to support and ensure high-quality education, from preschool to postsecondary and trade school, for every young person in the city of Toledo, to create generational economic change for the betterment of our families and community." |

Exploring Big Futures in Building and Design The Foundry Career and College programming continues. OH community members Rich Effler, Mark Pawlaczyk, Todd Kime, and Rob Weaver will be offering an exciting panel discussion that will focus on career opportunities in architecture, plumbing, construction, interior design, project management, 3D rendering and models, and master carpentry on April 29 from 6:30- 8 p.m. Any student or parent interested in attending, please email dbroadway@ohschools.org. |
Girls LAX Crushes St. Ursula The SUA Blue Arrows have long been a rival with the Green Bears. Last Wednesday the team dominated St Ursula beating them 15-4 at SUA. Earlier in the week, the team handedly defeated Clay High School on the road. Don’t miss the opportunity to see the team this season. The girls play at Maumee Valley at 5pm on Tuesday and at home on Friday against Notre Dame. |

Boys Tennis Triumphs: A Recap of Their Stellar Week The boys tennis team had an outstanding week. On Friday, they beat Vermillion 5-0 in the OCTA Northwest Ohio DII quarterfinal. On Saturday, Ottawa Hills, Anthony Wayne Sylvania Northview, Sylvania Southview, St Francis, and St. Johns competed in the OH Invitational. The team finished second behind SJJ. Sophomore Jack Kayse finished third in 1st singles, senior Savith Viendra won 2nd singles and Sophomore Chris Thompson won 3rd singles. Many thanks to coaches Dan and Chris Amato, Interim Athletic Director Rick Kaifis, and parent volunteers Marcy Kayse and Michelle Walker for all their assistance with the event. |

French Club: La Manie Musicale Each year, French students participate in a “March Madness” competition of francophone music by completing a bracket with the songs they predict will win. The Manie Musicale was started by French teachers in Maine and now includes thousands of students from several different countries. The OH French Club also has a local competition in which students create a music video of one of the songs in the bracket. Congratulations to Sahil Parikh, Twayne Lai, Freya Klaas, Kaed Egan, and Meral Humaida for winning first place for their moving instrumental interpretation of Rêver Éveillé by Québecois singer-songriter Claude Bégin. Thank you to Madrin Snyder, Mel Malczewski, Ahmad Anjum, and Maddox Smith for their help with the local celebration! |

Model UN Participates in MAHSC On Saturday and Sunday, April 20th & 21st, sophomores Anushka Agarwal, Sharon Lim, Quinton Smith, Joan Seo; junior Ashley Wang; and seniors Elizabeth Alamina, Zoe Cheema, & Anthony Packo participated in the Mid-American Historical Security Council (MAHSC) conference in downtown Toledo. These students participated in three different Historical Security Council simulations; the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, the 1961 Situation in the Congo, and the 1980 Situation between Iran & Iraq. There was also a Model League of Nations which debated the 1921 Albanian-Yugoslav Border War Quinton Smith (Turkey) and Ashley Wang (USSR) were awarded Highest Honors for their work in the 1961 Situation in the Congo and the 1980 Situation between Iran & Iraq respectively. According to advisor Tom McCarthy, “The entire delegation did an excellent job representing their respective countries in each simulation through debate and collaboration. It was an excellent conclusion to an outstanding year of MUN conferences.” The OH Model UN Club would like to thank OHSPA for their ongoing support.
