Rose’s Message Happy February! As we begin a new month, we want to thank our students, staff, and families for braving the extreme cold temperatures over the past few weeks. We are hopeful and excited to welcome the slightly milder temperatures that are predicted for the first week of February. This week, we will continue to focus on strong learning habits, respect for one another, and staying healthy during the winter season. Our students continue to work hard and show kindness each day, and we are proud of their efforts both in and out of the classroom. Thank you for your continued support and partnership as we focus on learning, safety, and respect for all. Wishing everyone a great week ahead! Rose Gaiffe Elementary Principal rgaiffe@ohschools.org

Why Doctor Notes Matter: In accordance with state mandates, documentation (such as a doctor's note for illness or appointment) must be provided to the office for all absences in order for that absence to be considered excused. If a doctor's note is provided for your child's absence, the hours in minutes calculated for HB 410 will NOT be included. This will help reduce the amount of time calculated for excessive absences. House Bill 410 and the Ohio Revised Code Section 3321.191(C)(1) define excessive absences as 38 or more hours (six days) in one school month; or 65 or more hours (10 school days) in one school year, with or without an excuse. PowerSchool Codes: E: Excused - hours, minutes, dayswillcount for HB410 EM: Excused Medical (with dr. note)- hours, minutes, days will not count for HB410

SLOW DOWN! We have noticed that some vehicles are driving way too fast through the car line during student drop-off. Please remember to drive slowly in the parking lot and on Indian Road during school hours. The safety of our students is our top priority.
