Ottawa Hills Musicians Shine at Annual Fall Collage Concert What an incredible evening! The annual Fall Collage concert on Sunday showcased the truly remarkable talent we have here at Ottawa Hills Junior/Senior High School. It was a beautiful demonstration of the hard work and dedication of our students, and a celebration of the arts that is a hallmark of the Green Bear community. Over 200 students from both the junior and senior high schools participated in this fantastic event, bringing together our vocal and instrumental music programs for an unforgettable performance. Vocal Music Director Hayley Hoss and Band Director Michael Leeds curated a diverse selection of music, spanning from classical pieces to contemporary hits, all unified by themes of inspiration and the changing season. The audience was captivated by the complexity and beauty on display. Some of the notable vocal performances included the Choraliers’ renditions of "Fix You," "Fa Una Canzona," and "Holding Hands," and the high school concert choir’s moving performance of "Venga Nel Nostro Coro" and "Heartbeat Rhythm." The junior high choir also delighted the crowd with "Windy Nights" and "Ma Bella Bimba." The Junior Chorale added a touch of elegance with pieces like "Fly Me to the Moon," "Lascia Ch’io Pianga” from Rinaldo," and "Bridge Over Troubled Water." Our instrumental programs were equally impressive. The Marching Band brought the energy with "Hooked on a Feeling," "Land of 1000 Dances," "Smooth," and the spirited "Stand Up and Cheer." The junior high Concert Band gave a thoughtful performance of "Hymn of Thanksgiving," "Clouds, Bells and Whistles," and the powerful "Finale From Symphony No. 1." The OHHS Drumline demonstrated precision with their "2025 Cadence Series." This event was a resounding success and a wonderful way to begin the performance season. We extend our sincerest congratulations to all the student performers for their passion and commitment to excellence. A special thanks is also due to the outstanding staff whose expertise and guidance made this night possible: Hayley Hoss, Michael Leeds, and our dedicated accompanist, Bob Duris. The Fall Collage concert continues to be a highlight of our school year, and we look forward to seeing the continued growth and success of our talented musicians. Go Green Bears! |
