| Hello Green Bear Families, I want to thank all our parents for making sure your student(s) was prepared for testing this week by arriving on time, avoiding appointments during test time, getting a good night's sleep, and coming prepared with charged Chromebooks. Things went very smoothly this week for state testing and are hoping for the same next week. Your efforts are greatly appreciated! Thank you again. |

| Parent tips to help your child prepare for state tests (April 2-25)The Ohio State Tests for grades 3-6 began on April 2. As a parent, you can take several steps to help your child have a positive testing experience: Schedule medical appointments outside of school hours. Plan family trips and activities on non-school days. Have your child prepare for school the night before to avoid tardiness. Ensure your child charges their Chromebook each night and brings it to school each day. Encourage your child to eat a nutritious breakfast to fuel their brain. Help your child establish a sleep routine that includes at least eight hours of rest each night. Promote outdoor play after school, as increased oxygen to the brain supports thinking and memory.
Following these tips will not only help your child perform better on tests but also support their overall academic success and daily energy levels. |

A special story-telling visit: A lucky kindergarten class had a special author visit via Zoom with Omar Abed to read "The Book That Almost Rhymed." The reading was recorded so other classes can also experience the author reading his work. He sent a signed copy of his book to add to the collection inside The Wondry, encouraging our Green Bears to "tell your stories in your own way!" Thank you Mrs. Khalil for helping arrange this special visit for our students. |

Reduce, re-use, recycle. 1st-6th grade students took on a huge recycling effort with Mrs. Sanderson to reuse crayons from classrooms that are broken. Students peeled the papers, sorted by color and made new crayons to take home. The "new" crayons will also be used in The Wondry so that no new crayons are needed to be purchased for STREAM classes next school year. |

Let's pull together: In memory of Dr. Bauer's daughter, Charley, we will be collecting pull tabs from aluminum cans to raise funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). Tabs can be collected in any clean container and added to the large orange box near the elementary main office. RMHC is paid by recycling companies for the aluminum and uses the funds to purchase meals for families using their programs. Our goal is to collect 42 gallons of pull tabs by May 30, the end of the school year. |
