| Hello Green Bear Families, Wow- what a talent show we had this morning! It takes a lot of courage just to get up on stage in front the whole school. I'm very proud of all the students who shared their talents with their peers and visitors today. I'm also very proud of our student body for showing such respect during the performances by being so well behaved.
In total we had over 70 Green Bears participate in the talent show with 54 acts. A big thank you Mrs. Kulka for organizing the show and to Mr. Leeds for lending us his musical and technical expertise. |

| News from the Art Room! April was filled with exciting visits to the Toledo Museum of Art! Grades 2 & 4 have been studying art history, museum procedures and specific paintings and sculptures in their art classes with Mrs. Bodziak. These tours are an exciting culmination of their art room studies! On April 23, the second graders searched for different kinds of paintings in their tour. We looked for beautiful examples of seascapes and landscapes, cityscapes, portraits and even a real Piet Mondrian abstract. The bus ride proved to be great fun for everyone, too! On April 30, fourth graders enjoyed an outdoor visit to the TMA Sculpture Garden. They discussed Calder’s Stegosaurus and Deborah Butterfield’s bronze horse, Second Daughter. Inside, they examined the black wooden boxes of Sky Presence I, Moore’s Reclining Figure and many other examples of 3-D art! Hopefully, Ottawa Hills students can visit museums with their families during their summer break! Mrs. Bodziak would love to have you share photos and stories about your Art adventures in the Fall! You can reach out to her at cbodziak@ohschools.org. Thank you, Mrs. Bodziak for contributing this to the bulletin and sharing field trip photos. More photos can be found in the Green Bear Snapshots section below. |

Girls going the extra mile - Members of the Girls on the Run (GOTR) team for Ottawa Hills participated in a service project recently collecting and bagging trash around campus. GOTR trains and runs together to inspire girls to "recognize their inner strength, increase their level of physical activity, imagine their possibilities, and confidently stand up for themselves and others. Good luck to all our GOTR Green Bears running this weekend! |
