| Hello Green Bear Families, Let’s finish the year strong, starting with being on time! We’ve seen a growing number of students arriving late each day, sometimes more than 17. Tardiness not only impacts your child’s learning, it disrupts the entire class. Instruction starts promptly at 8:10 a.m. Students are expected to be in their seats and ready to learn at that time. Being on time is a basic expectation and is not optional. Please make punctuality a priority and help us give every student the strong start they deserve. Thank you in advance for helping us to end the year on a high note, |

| A reminder about off-campus behavior and school responsibilityAt OHES, we are committed to creating a safe and respectful environment for all students, both in and out of the classroom. While we recognize that some conflicts or inappropriate behaviors may happen outside of school hours or off-campus (including online), these actions can still affect students’ sense of safety, well-being, and ability to learn. Please know that if bullying, harassment, or other concerning behavior outside of school impacts the school environment, we may take appropriate steps to address situations. This may include, but is not limited to texts, chats or other social media occurring outside of school as these may affect a student’s ability to feel safe and learn while in school. Please understand that any disciplinary actions for any student are always confidential to that student and their parents. We encourage families to speak with their children about treating others with kindness and respect, both in person and online. Please feel free to refer to the Elementary Parent Handbook P.A.W.S. Pledge (page 4) and General Behavior Guidelines (page 30) when reviewing behavior expectations with your child. Together, we can help all students feel supported, safe, and valued. |

Help us keep Harrison safe! Our therapy dog, Harrison, loves joining us on the playground, but like most dogs, he’s quick to sniff (and sometimes eat) things off the ground. Food wrappers and trash can be dangerous for him. Please remind your child to clean up after themselves and throw away all trash during recess and after school. A clean playground keeps Harrison healthy and shows we all care. Thanks for helping us take care of our furry friend! |

Let's pull together: In memory of Dr. Bauer's daughter, Charley, we will be collecting pull tabs from aluminum cans to raise funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). Tabs can be collected in any clean container and added to the large orange box near the elementary main office. RMHC is paid by recycling companies for the aluminum and uses the funds to purchase meals for families using their programs. Our goal is to collect 42 gallons of pull tabs by May 30, the end of the school year. |
