Agora Week 2024: Building Connections and Lifelong Memories The feedback from Agora Week has been overwhelmingly positive! Regardless of grade level or whether students participated in on-campus activities or travel programs, they had powerful and meaningful experiences. Taking part in a week structured so differently from our typical routine is no small feat, and everyone’s efforts are deeply appreciated. Agora continues to be a transformative experience for many of our students, creating connections and memories that will last a lifetime. Students forged important bonds with one another, engaged with the broader community, and explored the world in meaningful ways. A heartfelt thank-you to everyone involved in planning, creating, innovating, inspiring, and connecting to make this week possible. Special recognition goes to Jasa George, Nicole Silvers, and Karen Fischer for ensuring the campus program was action-packed, fun-filled, and deeply impactful for our students. The workshops this year were especially creative and innovative, adding so much value to the experience. We are also incredibly grateful to our faculty and staff for leading workshops, coordinating field trips, and hosting guest speakers. A big thank-you to our trip leaders and chaperones who guided students on unforgettable journeys to Washington, D.C.; Costa Rica; France; Spain; the Bahamas; and Italy. We can’t wait to hear more about the exciting stories and adventures from the week! Finally, thank you to the Ottawa Hills Schools Parent Association, the Ottawa Hills Schools Foundation, and all those who contributed their time, effort, or monetary support. Without their generosity, Agora Week would not have been possible. |

Veterans Day Assembly Special thanks to Dr. Jim Phillips for speaking at our annual Veterans Day assembly. Dr. Phillips, who served in both the United States Air Force and Navy, has dedicated himself to honoring those who have served our country. Most recently, he founded Remember Veteran Grave Markers, an initiative focused on restoring veterans' grave markers across more than 60 cemeteries in Lucas County. We would also like to extend our gratitude to Social Studies Department Chair Steve Bobak for organizing today’s meaningful assembly. A special thank-you to the OHHS Choraliers for their outstanding performance of the National Anthem, which added a memorable touch to the event. Finally, a shout-out to senior Hutch Carter for his excellent introduction of today’s guest speaker. Hutch is also the proud recipient of the 2024 Liberty Memorial Scholarship Award. Congratulations, Hutch! |
