Information Regarding Yearly Assessments
Throughout the school year, students will participate in various assessments that help us better understand their individual learning needs and monitor their progress. This data informs the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) process.
These assessments provide valuable information to teachers and help us identify learner strengths as well as areas where students may require additional support in a specific area(s). Sometimes, a child may require more than one assessment to ensure teachers are able to provide appropriate instruction.
When any of these assessment results indicate that a student may need additional assistance, through MTSS, students receive targeted interventions designed to address their specific needs, and their progress is monitored over time. This intervention often occurs with their classroom teacher but, for example, can also take place with a reading intervention teacher.
If your child is identified as needing targeted intervention through the MTSS process, you will be notified and provided with additional information.
Our goal is to identify student needs early and provide the right support at the right time to help every child continue to grow and succeed.
If you have questions at any time, please contact your child’s teacher or the building principal.
