From the desk of Mr. McMurray...

We are encouraging students to keep their focus in the final stretch of the school year. Please remind students to finish strong and get the most out of their experiences by taking advantage of student supports such as tutoring, mentoring, and structured learning assistance available in the Foundry.

We wish all of our Green Bear athletes all the best as they close out their spring seasons and approach tournament play. Get the most up-to-date schedules on our website.

1. AP Testing

AP (Advanced Placement) Exams begin today. AP students and their parents were emailed the testing schedule and other important information to review before each testing date. AP Exams are taken by students who have been enrolled in AP classes for the year. Please email Mrs. Nagy if you have any questions. Huge thanks to Jennifer Nagy and our proctors for handling logistics for AP Exams. Special thanks to our AP teachers for the work they do day in and day out preparing students for these exams. We wish everyone the best!

2. Prom

The Class of 2025 is excited to be hosting PROM 2024 on May 11. If you have any questions regarding prom, please reach out to Dr. KG. After

After Prom 2024 is here, this Saturday!! This event provides junior and senior students and their guests with a way to celebrate the night in a safe, secure, and substance-free atmosphere after the formal prom event is over. The event is STILL LACKING ENOUGH VOLUNTEERS to make this a night to remember for your kiddos. Please consider signing up to help on May 10 or 11.

After Prom walk through for the community will be held at 9:00pm on Saturday, May 11. Please note, activities will be in the process of being set up given the event does not begin until 11:00pm.

3. Fees & Yearbooks

Any unpaid fees and fines need to be resolved as soon as possible. Yearbooks will not be distributed to students with any outstanding fees or fines. The online portal can be accessed via PowerSchool or the district website. Yearbook distribution will take place Thursday, May 23. Students will have time to have their classmates sign yearbooks during May Day festivities.

4. Exams

May 24, 28-30

Please see below for the second semester exam schedule. All students will be dismissed at 2:00pm each exam day if they do not have any make up exams or other obligations to teachers.

5.Mental Health Awarness Month

Last day to order your shirts!

May is Mental Health Awareness month and on May 17 Green Bears will be invited to wear shades of green as a way to bring attention to the prevention and treatment of Mental Health challenges. For those interested, Jupmode has designed a “Be Kind To Your Mind” t-shirt for purchase, created exclusively for the Ottawa Hills community to honor Mental Health Awareness Month. Order here

8th Grade Recognition

The recognition ceremony will take place in the auditorium from 6:00-7:00pm on Tuesday, May 28. Students are expected to arrive at 5:45. There is no limit to the number of guests. Hope to see you there!
